The IPL 2020: Controversy Over Dismissal David Warner

The IPL 2020: the controversy over giving out David Warner, questions raised over third umpire’s decision.

The dismissal of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain David Warner in the review against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2020 eliminator became a cause for controversy.

Some former cricketers and experts doing commentaries questioned the third umpire’s decision. Hyderabad fast bowler Mohammad Siraj was caught by David de Warner in the gloves of AB de Villiers.

During this time it was not clear whether the ball went to de Villiers or to the trousers while touching Galves. On-field umpire S Ravi gave it not out.

While third umpire Virender Sharma gave it out after watching replays several times. According to the umpiring norms, the benefit of the doubt should be given to the batsman.

Commentator Pommy Mbangwa criticized the decision by the third umpire, stating that Warner should not have been given out.

He said that since the evidence was not substantive and the on-field decision was not out, he should not have been given out. He later also said that this decision could have gone either way.

Former New Zealand player Scott Styris said the third umpire was an unbelievable decision. David Warner has enough reason to be angry.

The original division was not out and there was not enough evidence to change the verdict.

However, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, who is commenting on Mbangwa, ended the controversy by saying that the umpire’s decision should be respected.

Hyderabad defeated Bangalore by 6 wickets in this match. Sunrisers Hyderabad, thanks to their bowlers’ brilliant performance, first stopped RCB for 131 runs and then took 132 runs for four wickets to win by six wickets.

Virat Kohli has been ruled out of the Asarcibi tournament with the captaincy. At the same time, Sunrisers will now face Delhi Capitals in the second qualifier.

Kane Williamson played a big role in Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Friday in the IPL 2020 eliminator match. Captain David Warner described his innings as a ‘masterclass’.

Williamson scored his 14th half-century in IPL. All-rounder Jason Holder scored an unbeaten 24 not out. While Bangalore is eliminated from the tournament.

The Hyderabad team will take on Delhi Capitals (DC) in qualifier two on Sunday. The winning teams of the two will take on Mumbai Indians in the final on Tuesday.
