The Mortal Remains Of Naveen Shekharappa Reached India
The mortal remains of Naveen, an Indian student killed in Ukraine, reached India, father said – will donate son’s body for research.
The body of Indian student Naveen Shekharappa Gyangoudaram, who was killed in the fierce battle that broke out in Ukraine, was brought to India today.
The plane carrying Naveen’s mortal remains landed at the Bengaluru airport at around 3 am.
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai arrived at the Bengaluru airport to pay tribute to Naveen Shekharappa. On March 2, an Indian student was killed in a gunfight during the Russo-Ukraine war.
The relatives were constantly trying to bring the dead body back to India, the wait ended today.
The family members paid their last respects to the deceased at the airport and Chief Minister Bommai then laid a wreath on the body.
Addressing the press outside the airport, CM Bommai said, ‘I thank the central government for making efforts to bring back the mortal remains of Naveen Shekharappa Gyangoudar, who was killed in shelling in Ukraine.
It is unfortunate that we lost them in the gunfight. The family members along with state government officials were present at the Bengaluru airport to collect the body of the deceased medical student.

The father of the slain Indian student Naveen Shekharappa told the media at Bangalore airport, “First there will be a puja, then the body will be kept for darshan and in the evening his body will be donated to SS Hospital Davanagere.”
He had the intention of serving society by becoming a doctor from childhood but he could not get a medical seat here.
Then he had to be sent to Ukraine, he could not fulfill the dream of becoming a doctor, but at least something from his body to learn the children coming forward.
That’s why we have decided to donate his body.
Naveen Shekharappa Gyangoudar’s family paid tributes as part of the last rites at his native place in Haveri, Karnataka, following which his family will donate the body to the SS Hospital in Davanagere.
Let us tell you that Naveen Shekharappa Gyangoudar, a student of MBBS, was a resident of the Haveri district of Karnataka.
The 21-year-old student, a fourth-year student at Kharkiv National Medical University in Ukraine, stood in a queue to buy food during the war when he was killed in Russian shelling.
