 Top Commander Of Jem Sajjad Afghani finally shot down, two terrorists killed so far: Shopian Encounter Day 03.

The last three days in the encounter in Rawalpora, District Shopian, South Kashmir, finally led to Jaish-e-Mohammed’s top commander, Wilayat Lone alias Sajjad Afghani, being shot dead.

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar himself confirmed this and termed it a major success of the security forces. He said that two terrorists have been killed so far in this encounter that has been going on for 72 hours in Rawalpora.

The operation is still going on. Earlier on Sunday, the terrorist who was killed by the security forces has been identified as Rakkh Narapora Shopian, the late Abdul Rahman Wani, the son of Lashkar-e-Taiba.

According to security forces, he joined Lashkar-e-Taiba in September 2020. The encounter began on Saturday night in Rawalpora, Shopian. Till late night, attempts were made to surrender the terrorists.

But the terrorists refused to surrender.  Meanwhile, a terrorist was killed by security forces on Sunday morning.

 Jem’s top commander: The security forces had blown up the house to get the terrorists out of the house, but the other terrorists managed to escape from there.

While the security personnel was chasing the terrorists, some mischievous elements present in the area also tried to influence their operation but the security forces chased them away.

Meanwhile, the weapons recovered from the encounter site have put the security forces in a panic. A US-made M-4 rifle, three magazines, 36 rounds, and about 9600 cash have also been recovered from the slain terrorist.

After the terrorist was killed, the security forces continued to search for the absconding terrorists.

This morning when the security forces once again started a search operation, the terrorists hiding in a house once again opened fire, targeting the security forces.

At present, the firing continues from both sides. Internet service in Shopian has also been discontinued till further orders due to rumors so that the campaign is not affected.

According to the information, a team of militants armed with automatic weapons was seen in Rawalpora last Saturday afternoon.

On being informed by the locals, the police along with 34 Army RR and 188th soldiers of CRPF conducted a search operation in the village.

As the jawans were advancing in the village, the terrorists hiding in a place near the fields tried to escape by breaking the siege. They opened fire on the soldiers. The jawans fired back and after that the encounter started in the village.

When dark, the jawan stopped firing from his side to avoid any kind of civilian damage. To ensure that the terrorists do not break the siege in any way, the soldiers surrounded the terrorists from all around.

Closed all the paths with barbed wire and installed floodlights in the village for illumination.

The operation of the security forces continued even after a terrorist was killed on Sunday. The encounter has started once again this morning. Other details are awaited.
