So far, a total of 236 cases of Omicron, a new variant of the coronavirus, have been reported in the country. So far, its cases have been reported in 15 states of the country.

Most of its cases have been reported in Delhi. It is followed by Maharashtra’s number. The case of this variant has also come to the fore in Haryana.

The number of its cases in Tamil Nadu has increased to 34. Today PM Modi is also going to hold a review meeting to take stock of the situation arising out of this variant.

According to the Union Health Ministry, more than 60 percent of the eligible population in India has been fully vaccinated.

The Union Health Minister tweeted and wrote that “And new feats are taking place! Congratulations India.

Backed by the public participation and dedicated efforts of our health workers, more than 60% of the eligible population is now fully vaccinated.”

If we talk about during the last 24 hours, nine cases have been reported in Kerala, four in Rajasthan, two each in Andhra Pradesh and Bengal, and one in Haryana.

Omicron has its first case in Haryana. All those infected so far have mild symptoms and many people are not even showing any symptoms. So far no one has died in the country from the new variant.

IIT Kanpur’s Padma Shri Professor Manindra Agrawal says that this danger cannot be stopped, but it can definitely be avoided by taking precautions.

We have to prepare for it ourselves.

He also says that on the basis of the data that has come out so far, it can be said that the effect of this variant has been seen less on people whose immunity power has been strong.

At the same time, people with low immunity have come more under its influence. According to him, the only way to prevent this is that people should avoid going to crowded places and keep masks.

Apart from this, those who have not yet taken the dose of the vaccine, take the vaccine as soon as possible.

Professor Aggarwal also says that natural immunity has developed in people in India and South Africa.

Natural immunity has been developed in more than 80 percent of the people in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh of the country. The effect of the virus on such people will not be much.

However, the final conclusion can be reached only after the full figures of the new variant are revealed.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization’s (WHO) regional director for Europe, Dr. Hans Kluge, said in a press conference that another storm of the pandemic could be seen in Europe due to Omicron.

Governments should be prepared to face this. Due to this, cases of infection will increase in many countries and the health system of the already facing crises will come into more trouble.
