Annoyed by the statement of PDP President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on the national flag, social activist Amandeep Singh Boparai took out the tricolor rally on Sunday.
The rally started from Gandhinagar Hospital and went outside the PDP office in Gandhinagar. During this time due to the presence of a large number of police personnel, he could not place the tricolor in the PDP office.
But in protest, the PDP has sat on a sit-in outside the office.
Social activist Amandeep Singh Boparai, who came back from retirement from the Navy, went to the PDP office with his two other colleagues and planted the national flag a day earlier.
This led to Amandeep Singh’s argument with former MLC Firdaus Tak and one other leader sitting inside the office and also a push.
On Sunday, Amandeep Singh, along with many of his colleagues, took out a tricolor rally from outside the Gandhinagar Hospital at 12 noon.
In it, the youth proceeded towards the PDP office riding two-wheelers carrying tricolor in their hands. During this period, a large number of police personnel were deployed outside the PDP office.
When the rally reached outside the PDP office and Amandeep Singh started going to the PDP office to place the tricolor, the police stopped him from going further.
But Amandeep remained adamant about planting the tricolor in the PDP office and sat on a dharna in protest. He alleged that the area outside the PDP office has also been made Lal Chowk.
He said that there was a benefit in removing Article 370. Earlier, the tricolor was not hoisted in Kashmir, but now it is being stopped to hoist the tricolor in Jammu also.
He said that no action is being taken against those who are speaking against the Tricolor. The government should detain all those who insult the tricolor, including the PDP President.
He said that security personnel should be withdrawn from the PDP’s former MLC Firdaus Talk.
He is making false allegations that the mob attacked the PDP office. While not the crowd but two people went to the office to put the tricolor. Tak also expelled them from there.
