South Bengal Frontier spokesperson and DIG Surjit Singh told Guleria that they were caught by vigilant soldiers of the Eighth Battalion from the area of ​​BSF border outpost Silberia in Nadia on Saturday morning when they were trying to illegally enter India.

He said that information was received from the intelligence wing of the BSF that two Indian brokers, namely Shaheen Malita and Musa Nabi Mandal respectively, are roaming around the border for illegal entry of Bangladeshis to India.

As soon as the information was received, the soldiers of the border post-Siliberia were alerted. Meanwhile, on the phone of a broker, Shaheen Malita, there were repeated calls from a Bangladeshi broker.

The BSF apprehended the two and interrogated them on seeing suspicious movements. Based on this, the soldiers made a special ambush in the banana garden near the international border next to the border road.

Around five o’clock in the morning, some suspicious persons from the Bangladesh side were seen crossing the international border illegally and entering the Indian border.

The soldiers immediately challenged and chased and captured the four intruders. After that, all were brought to the border post-Silberia.

The Bangladeshi nationals arrested during the initial interrogation named their names as Jamal Hasan (31), Kamal Hasan (25), Saeed Pias (33), and Safikul Hasan (44). All four belong to the Yashore district of Bangladesh.

At the same time, both the brokers, Shaheen Malita (26) and Musa Nabi Mandal (21), are residents of Kumari, Ramnagar village under Hanskhali police station in Nadia district.

Wanted to go to Mumbai for wages, had given 40,000 Bangladeshi currency to broker to cross the border.

BSF DIG Guleria said that among the arrested Bangladeshis, Jamal Hassan, Kamal Hassan, and Saeed Pias revealed that they wanted to go to Mumbai to work as laborers, and for this work, the three of them, a Bangladeshi broker Kaviraj, Village 40,000 Bangladeshi to Navarone, Thana – Sarsa, District – Yashore, Bangladesh.

At the same time, another Bangladeshi Safiqul Hasan told that he was going to go to Kolkata to work as a laborer, and for this work he gave Rs 8,000 to the above broker.

The BSF has handed over all the arrested Bangladeshi nationals and Indian brokers to the Hanskhali police station for further legal proceedings.
