UK PM Race: Rishi Sunak on his way to victory in the race for the post of Prime Minister of Britain, remains on top in the second round too.

Indian-origin Rishi Sunak (Rishi Sunak in UK PM Race) is on top with 101 votes after the second phase of voting in the race for the post of UK Prime Minister.

Apart from Sunak, five contenders, including Penny Mordot, are left in the race for prime minister. Penny is second with 83 votes.

Suella Braverman dropped out of the race after receiving the least number of 27 votes in the second round.

Meanwhile, Sunak replied to his rivals saying, I will not win the election to cut taxes, but to cut taxes.

Braverman is out of the race.

Britain’s new prime minister will replace Boris Johnson as leader of the ruling Conservative Party.

Besides Sunak, Foreign Minister Liz Truss, Commerce Minister Penny Mordot, former cabinet minister Cami Badenoch, MP Tom Tugendhat, and British cabinet attorney general Suella Braverman were in the second round of the race for prime minister.

Braverman is out of the race after a second-round result.

In the first phase of voting, Sunak (Rishi Sunak) got 88 votes, Penny got 67, Liz 50, Kemi 40, Tom Tugendhat 37 and Suella Braverman got 32 votes.

At the same time, Finance Minister Nadeem Jahavi got out of the race after getting 25 votes and Jeremy Hunt only 18 votes. It was necessary to get 30 votes to remain in the race.

On Thursday, 358 members of the Conservative Party took part in the second round of voting.

In this election, Rishi Sunak got 101 votes, Penny 83, Liz Truss 64, Kemi 49, Tom 32, and Suela got only 27 votes.
