The combined share of these two states in the total industrial projects to be taken up in the country is more than a quarter.

The share of other states which are included in BIMARU states like Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand has also increased, but their performance in front of the above two states can be said to be weak.

This figure has been released by the RBI on the basis of the projects being set up by taking loans from banks and financial institutions in all the states in the country.

Ten years ago most of the new industrial projects were being set up in Odisha (27 percent), Punjab (11 percent), and Maharashtra (10.7 percent), but now only Maharashtra is able to maintain its importance.

Talking about the present time, 55 percent of the total projects are going to the states like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
