UP’s Big Jump In Make In India, UK’s Webley Products
UP’s big jump in Make in India, UK’s Webley Scott Revolver to be built in Hardoi’s Sandila, will be priced at Rs 1.6 lakh. In Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, Britain’s well-known arms manufacturing company, Webly & Scott Co., is going to produce Revolver.
It will be the first foreign company to manufacture arms in the country. The company is setting up its manufacturing unit at Sandila in Hardoi, about 30 km from Lucknow.
For this, it has joined hands with Syal Manufacturers Private Limited Company of Lucknow. The price of this revolver will be around 1.6 lakh rupees.
Let me tell you that this is the same company that gave weapons to the Allied Force during the Second World War. This company is producing weapons in about 15 countries.
It is believed that this company will start production from November. In the first phase, the company will manufacture its renowned Webley Scott .32 revolver.
Collaboration with this company of Lucknow
Speaking to the leading newspaper, John Bright, Co-Honor of Weebly & Scott Company, said that after this we will also make pistols, airguns, shotguns, and cartridges.
He said that keeping in mind the huge market potential, we have decided to invest in the state of India and Uttar Pradesh.
We decided to expand the business together with the Syal family in 2018. We got a license to manufacture weapons in India in 2019.
In the first phase, the original design of the 1899 Mark IV.32 pistol will be used to meet the demand of the Indian market. He said that keeping in mind the potential of a big market, he has decided to invest in Uttar Pradesh. This will be UP’s big jump in Make in India.
Airgun will also be produced
Bright informed that arms and airguns will be jointly produced for the Indian market. In the last year 2019, we got a license to make weapons.
He said that in the first phase, we will enter the market with the original design of the 1899 Mark 4 .32 pistol. In this regard, a team of 15 experts came to India from England and visited Sandila.
Make India policy benefits
Joginder Pal Singh of Syal Manufacturers (who is the All India Distributor of Webley Scott’s products) said that the UP government’s cooperation and the Center’s Make in India policy played a huge role in implementing the project.
He told that the price of .32 revolver will be around 1.6 lakh rupees. We will challenge other ordnance factories in the country. People will be able to get world-class products near their homes.
