Shaurya Chakra awarded to DIG Amit Kumar by President.

DIG Amit Kumar struggled between life and death for eight months, President saluted his bravery by giving Shaurya Chakra.

The whole atmosphere in Rashtrapati Bhavan became very serious when Sara Begum cried when the name of her martyr son SPO Bilal Ahmed was announced.

President Ram Nath Kovind himself went ahead and presented Shaurya Chakra to the martyr’s mother in honor of her brave son.

On Tuesday, the President presented Shaurya Chakra to four police personnel including Amit Kumar, DIG of Jammu, and Kashmir Police.

Inspector Arshad Khan, SPO Bilal Ahmed Magre, and Constable Ghulam Mustafa Barah have been awarded the Shaurya Chakra posthumously.

Apart from these, Head Constable Abdul Rashid Kalas, along with two of his accomplices, has been awarded the Kirti Chakra posthumously.

Bilal Magre entered the room to kill the terrorists.

SPO Bilal Ahmed Magre was martyred on August 22, in the first encounter with security forces and terrorists in Baramulla, Kashmir.

The terrorist was hiding in a house and had also taken some people hostage. Bilal Ahmed Magrey had voluntarily come forward and told his commander.

With him, Sub Inspector Amardeep got involved in the room intervention. During this, both were injured in the firing of the terrorists.

Despite this, he pulled out all the people trapped in the house there. SPO Bilal Ahmed kept fighting the terrorist till his last bullet, but despite being injured, he did not back down.

He was martyred in this campaign.

He was posthumously awarded the Shaurya Chakra which was received by his mother Sara Begum.

When she was returning to her seat after receiving the Shaurya Chakra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh consoled her.

Kirti Chakra to Head Constable Abdul Rashid Kalas and Shaurya Chakra to DIG Amit 

On February 18, about four days after the Pulwama terror attack, the police came to know that terrorist Kamran was hiding at a particular place in Kulgam, South Kashmir, along with his two other accomplices.

On coming to know about this, the police along with the army personnel launched a campaign.

During this encounter, DSP Aman Kumar, Head Constable Abdul Rashid Kalas, and army personnel were martyred. DIG Amit Kumar and a Brigadier were injured.

Terrorist Kamran was killed along with his two accomplices. Head constable Abdul Rashid and DIG Amit Kumar were awarded Kirti Chakra and Shaurya Chakra respectively for their bravery.

Martyr Abdul Rashid Kalas’ wife received Kirti Chakra from President Ram Nath Kovind.

The President saluted his bravery by applying Shaurya Chakra on the chest of DIG Amit Kumar, who struggled between life and death for almost eight months after being injured in this encounter.
