At least three rockets have been targeted at the embassy in the heavily guarded Green Zone on Sunday. Iraqi security officials said the embassy’s C-RAM defense system rockets have been used to destroy the rockets in the air.

At the moment it was not clear whether there were any casualties. The officials have given this information on the condition of anonymity.

Damage to property and parked cars

Iraqi security officials said renewed unrest is feared after the killing of an Iranian general.

Tensions arose after the assassination of General Qasim Sulemani

The C-RAM system was installed by the US in the summer as armed groups carried out several attacks targeting the embassy and its premises.
