Murray’s winning return to Grand Slam after 18 months

British player Andy Murray defeated Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka in the first round of the men’s singles at the US Open. Murray won 4-6, 4-6, 7-6, 7-6, 6-4 in a match that lasted four hours and 39 minutes. Murray is participating in a Grand Slam match after 18 months and this win would have certainly boosted his confidence.

India’s doubles player Divij Sharan lost in the first round at the US Open on Wednesday.
