US Open champion Emma Radukanu defeats Victoria Azarenka.

US Open champion Emma Radukanu continued her winning campaign by defeating Victoria Azarenka in straight sets in the second round of the Western and Southern Open tennis tournament.

The 19-year-old Radukanu, who defeated Serena Williams in the first round, showed proof of her preparedness for the US Open by defeating Azarenka 6-0, 6-2.

Radukanu, who won the last five games against Serena, won the first 10 games against Azarenka. She will next face eighth seed Jessica Pegula.

Rafael Nadal could not make a memorable comeback, and Borna Korich was trampled on.

Rafael Nadal’s return to the court after six weeks was not memorable as he suffered a three-set loss to Borna Coric in the Western and Southern Open tennis tournament here.

Korich defeated the Spanish star 7-6 (9), 4-6, 6-3 to enter the next round.

Nadal, who won a record 22 Grand Slam championships for men, took to the court for the first time since July 6. He was playing in this tournament for preparations before the US Open.

The 36-year-old Nadal, seeded second and ranked third in the world rankings, however, looked completely fit.

The match lasted for two hours and 51 minutes and in the meantime, Nadal did not have any fitness-related problems.

Meanwhile, three-time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray had to face defeat. He was defeated by Cameron Norie of Britain 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Apart from this, Taylor Fritz defeated Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios 6-3, 6-2 while 19-year-old Ben Shelton upset fifth-ranked player Casper Roode.

WI vs NZ, 1st ODI: Soorma of New Zealand did not play, West Indies washed by 5 wickets.

Shamar Brooks’ 79 runs and his 75-run partnership with captain Nicholas Pooran (28) helped West Indies beat world number one New Zealand by five wickets in the first ODI.

New Zealand’s team got out for 190 runs in 45.2 overs after getting the invitation to batting first. West Indies took an early lead in the three-match series with 193 for five in 39 overs.
