Vaccination to 52 lakh people till now, will be vaccinated for people above 50 years of age since March: Harsh Vardhan.

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan told the Lok Sabha on Friday that 35 thousand crore rupees have been allocated for vaccination in the general budget.

If needed, more money will be allocated for this. The Union Minister also said that so far 22 countries have requested the supply of Covid vaccine from India.

Out of these, a consignment of the vaccine has also been sent to 15 countries. Earlier, the Union Health Ministry said that 52 lakh people have been vaccinated in the country so far.

People over 50 years of age will get vaccinated in March.

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan also said that the process of vaccinating people above 50 years of age can start from the second or third week of March.

Currently, seven covid vaccines are in operation. Three of these vaccines are in the third phase of clinical trials while two are in the first and second stages.

Two vaccines against corona are in the pre-clinical stage. Dr. Harshvardhan gave the above information in response to supplementary questions in the Lok Sabha.

The target of one crore vaccination in the first phase

The Union Health Minister also informed that the target is to immunize one crore health workers in the first phase. After this, two crore frontline workers working in front will be vaccinated.

Vaccination of the frontline worker has started on February 2. About 480 million rupees will be spent on the vaccination of three crore health workers and frontline workers.

174 doctors died of corona

The government also told in the Lok Sabha that till February 2, 174 doctors, 116 nurses, and 199 health workers have died from Corona till last February.

Vaccination of 52,90,474 people

Manohar Agnani, Additional Secretary in the Union Health Ministry, told in a press conference that more than 5 million people have been given the anti-corona vaccine in 21 days in the country.

On the 21st day of the vaccination campaign, 3,31,029 beneficiaries were vaccinated on Friday. With this, the number of vaccine beneficiaries increased to 52,90,474. 1.04 lakh vaccine sessions were organized for this.

Fastest Vaccination in India

Agnani said that India is the first country in the world to vaccinate such a large number of people in such a short time (21 days).

It took 24 days in America, 43 in Britain, and 45 days in Israel to vaccinate 5 million people. In this way, 5 million people have been vaccinated at the fastest speed in India.

No death due to vaccination so far

Aganani said that no vaccine beneficiary had to be hospitalized due to adverse effects after being vaccinated in the last 24 hours. So far, only 27 people have been required to be hospitalized after vaccination.

No incidents of serious, very serious, or death have been reported due to vaccination. So far 22 people have lost their lives after being vaccinated, but none are related to the Corona vaccine.

Vaccine supply to 15 countries

The ministry said that 61 percent of the vaccines are from eight states and union territories alone. In Uttar Pradesh alone, total vaccination has been 11.9 percent vaccination.

In the Lok Sabha, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan told that till now 15 countries have been sent vaccine consignments.

The vaccine has been supplied to these countries as 56 lakh dose assistance while 105 lakh dose has been supplied as a contract.

The second dose will be given from 13 February

According to Dr. VK Paul, Member (Health) in NITI Aayog, the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine will be given to health workers from 13 February. Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tripura, Mizoram, Lakshadweep.

Odisha, Kerala, Haryana, Bihar, Andaman and Nicobar, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh are the states and union territories where 50% or more health workers have been vaccinated.

12,408 new cases in 24 hours

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that 30 percent or fewer health workers have been vaccinated in Sikkim, Ladakh, Tamil Nadu, Jammu, and Kashmir, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, and Puducherry.

According to the NITI Aayog, health workers will be given a second dose of the Covid vaccine from February 13.

There have been 12,408 new cases of corona infection in the last 24 hours. With this, the number of infections has increased to more than 1.08 crore.
