VHP and Bajrang Dal members protest against ministers who reached the temple: Andhra Pradesh. Members of the Andhra Pradesh Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal protested against state ministers Vellampally Srinivasa Rao and Pinip Vishwaroop, following which they burned the temple on Sunday, two days after the chariot of the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple.

After the local police cracked barricades, they tried to lay siege, the situation in the area becoming tense. He also asked the ministers to take strict action against the culprits. The VHP had on Monday demanded a CBI inquiry into the incident.

On 6 September, the chariot of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple caught fire. No casualties were reported. According to police, the temple’s chariot caught fire around 1 am, which was extinguished within a few hours.

Sub-inspector Ch Gopalakrishna of Sakhienipetti after the incident said no further property damage and no one was injured as the chariot shed was about 200 meters away from the temple.

It is not yet clear how the chariot burned. The government has formed a panel to investigate the incident.

Anti-Corruption Bureau raids RDO office in Nellore

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Tuesday raided the office of the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) in Atamakur town of Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh.

A raid was conducted under the supervision of Nellore ACB Inspector Ramesh along with a team of four at 10 am on Tuesday. He checked the employees and recorded the cash details with them.

He later questioned the revenue divisional officer Umadevi and verified the records in the office. ACB Inspector Ramesh Babu said that they will inform the state level officials after the completion of the raid.

Earlier in the day, Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials raided the office of the joint chief inspector of factories at Balya Shastri Layout in Visakhapatnam.
