Vijay Diwas 2020: PM Modi ignites ‘Golden Victory Torch’ by reaching the war memorial, salutes the martyrs.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the National War Memorial today to mark the beginning of celebrating the 50th anniversary of India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the National War Memorial on the 50th anniversary of the 1971 India-Pakistan war and paid tribute to the martyred soldiers.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lit the ‘Golden Victory Torch’ at the National War Memorial on the 50th anniversary of the 1971 India-Pakistan War.

Four victory torches were lit on this occasion. On this occasion, along with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, CDS Bipin Rawat, the heads of the three forces were present with him.

Four ‘Vijay Mashal’ (Jwala), lit by the eternal flame of the National War Memorial, will be taken to various parts of the country including the villages of the Paramveer Chakra and Mahavir Chakra awardees of the 1971 war.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the National War Memorial on the 50th anniversary of the 1971 India-Pakistan war and paid tribute to the martyred soldiers.

Earlier, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled the logo for ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsha’ on the 50th anniversary of the 1971 India-Pakistan war.

Where will the torch be taken.

These torches will also go to the villages of the Veer Chakra and Mahavir Chakra winners for the 1971 war.

The soil of the villages of these medal-winning heroes and the places where important battles were fought, will be brought to the National War Memorial.

India celebrates December 16 as Victory Day to commemorate Pakistan’s victory in the 1971 war. Bangladesh was formed by this victory.

Where will the Vijay Yatra pass through.

On this occasion, four victory torches will be taken through the Vijay Yatra across the country.

The Vijay Yatra will travel from Delhi via Mathura to Bharatpur, Alwar, Hisar, Jaipur, Kota, etc., and will return to Delhi by touring the military cantonment areas and the cities covered by them.

The duration of the journey will be one year. The trip will also go to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

Know why it is called ‘Vijay Diwas’

On December 16, 1971, the Indian Army defeated the Pakistani Army on the open front along the Basant River on the western border of the country.

Hence the Indian Army celebrates Vijay Diwas on 16 December. Pakistan surrendered with 93 thousand soldiers in this war.
