Apart from this, two uncapped players have also got a place in this squad. Yannick Caria and Ramon Reifer have been included in the team for the first time.

On this occasion, West Indies’ lead selector Desmond Haynes said that we have selected a mixed team full of youth and experience.

In this selection process, we were also keeping an eye on the players playing in the CPL who are doing well.

I said at the beginning of my tenure that ‘I would be interested in giving opportunities to the players and I think I have been able to do so consistently.

I believe this is a very good team that we have picked, and it is a team that will compete, given that we have to qualify from Round 1 to Super12.”

I hope that he will continue to work hard in the CPL and other tournaments to replace players in case of injury.
