Many creatures were burnt to ashes, while Mayasura also lived there.

When Shri Krishna’s Sudarshan Chakra also increased to burn Mayasura. Then Mayasura fled and took refuge in Arjuna. He begged that he be released.

On taking refuge, Arjuna saved Maya. Then Maya prepared a special meeting for Maharaja Yudhishthira on the land of Khandava forest, which became famous as Maya-sabha.

The city which was settled there for the Pandavas under the umbrella of Shri Krishna and Indra Dev was named Indraprastha. Indraprastha was like heaven.

At that time no city on earth was as grand and beautiful. Seeing the splendor of Indraprastha’s assembly, Duryodhana was more water-roasted than the Pandavas.

Duryodhana captured Indraprastha by winning in deceitful gambling, after which 14 years later, due to this the war of Mahabharata took place.
