Year Ender 2022 Missile Tested in India: India has made rapid strides in the defense sector in recent years. Moving towards defense self-reliance, India is also achieving new milestones.

India has shown its strength to the world by testing indigenous missiles. India has successfully tested many missiles like Dhanush, Nirbhay, Agni, and Prahar this year i.e. 2022.

Year Ender 2022:In terms of security, the test of these missiles is a big achievement for India.

Keeping in mind the ‘Make in India and Make for the World’ vision, India is also moving at a fast pace in developing indigenous weapon systems.

So let us tell you in this report which missiles India tested in the year 2022 and where India stands today in the missile field.

Man-portable anti-tank-guided Missile.

DRDO successfully test-fired this missile in the month of January. The indigenously developed anti-tank missile has a low weight and is launched from a portable launcher.

During the test, the missile hit the intended target and destroyed it.

Helina Missile.

The indigenously developed anti-tank guided missile ‘Helina’ was launched from a helicopter in April. This missile was successfully tested twice.

The test was jointly conducted by DRDO, the Indian Army, and Indian Air Force. The missile hit the target accurately.

BrahMos Extended Range Edition.

In May 2022, India successfully test-fired the Extended Range Edition of the BrahMos air-launched missile from the Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter aircraft.

With its success, the Air Force has now been able to attack targets on land or sea with precision over long distances from Sukhoi fighter aircraft.

During the test, BrahMos accurately targeted the target which was fixed in the Bay of Bengal.

Naval Anti-ship Missile.

The Defense Research and Development Organization had May carried out a successful test from the Navy’s helicopter Seeking 42B at Balasore, Odisha’s ITR test site.

In the test, the missile managed to successfully destroy its intended target. It was the first indigenously built anti-ship missile for the Navy which was fired from the air.

Laser Guided Anti-tank Missile.

The indigenously developed laser-guided anti-tank guided missile was test-fired in June.

It was successfully tested by DRDO and the Indian Army from Main Battle Tank Arjun. In the test, the laser-guided anti-tank missile hit the target with accuracy.

Vertical Launch Short Range Surface-to-Air Missile.

The Vertical Launch Short Range Surface to Air Missile (VL-SRSAM) was successfully flight tested by DRDO and the Indian Navy on 23 Aug 2022 at Chandipur, Odisha.

Earlier also this test was done from the Indian Naval Ship on June 24, 2022.

Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile.

The Indian Army and DRDO conducted 6 flight tests in September 2022 against high-speed airborne targets.

These tests were conducted to assess the capabilities of the weapon system in different scenarios involving different types of missiles.

Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile.

The submarine-launched ballistic missile was test-fired from INS Arihant in October. The missile destroyed its target with precision in the Bay of Bengal.

This test met the technical standards. INS Arihant is a nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine of India.

Talking about its features, this submarine has the capability to launch a nuclear attack from land, air, and sea.

Agni-3.

India successfully test-fired Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile Agni-III from APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha.

This test was done in the month of November. Earlier, the successful training launch of Agni-IV was done in June.

Ballistic Missile Defense Interceptor.

In November this year, India achieved another success in the direction of improving the ballistic missile defense system.

India conducted the first successful flight test of Phase-II Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Interceptor AD-1 with a Large Kill Altitude Bracket from APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha.

DRDO has developed this missile.

Agni-5.

In a major boost to the defense sector, India successfully test-fired the nuclear-capable Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Agni-V on 15 December 2022.

The missile was tested from APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha. This becomes today’s take look at the Agni missile series.

The missile is capable of hitting targets up to 5,000 kilometers away with a high degree of accuracy.
