Amul Price Hike: Effect of GST, Amul’s curd and lassi become expensive, and milk prices will also increase soon.

Amul’s curd and lassi, buttermilk have become expensive from Tuesday after GST Council imposed 5% GST on packaged food products. The company said that soon the prices of milk can also be increased.

After the implementation of GST on these products from April 18, their prices are also seeing a jump from today.

Talking about Delhi-UP, 200 grams of curd will now be available for Rs 17 instead of Rs 16, while a packet of 400 grams of curd will now cost Rs 32 instead of Rs 30.

Similarly, a 1 kg curd packet is now being sold for Rs 69 instead of Rs 65.

Apart from this, the whey pouch will now be available for Rs.11 instead of Rs.10, Amul flavored milk bottle is also now being sold for Rs.22 instead of Rs.20.

Similarly, a 200 ml packet containing a whey tetra pack will be available for Rs 13 instead of Rs 12.

Amul products become more expensive in Mumbai.

Amul has now reduced its 200 gm curd cup in Mumbai to Rs 21, which was earlier for Rs 20. Similarly, a cup of 400 grams of curd will now be available for Rs 42, which was earlier available for Rs 40.

Even 400 grams of curd available in pouches are now available for Rs 32, which was earlier available for Rs 30. A 1 kg packet will also now be available for Rs 69 instead of Rs 65.

In Mumbai, a packet of 500 grams of buttermilk will now be available for Rs 16 instead of 15, while 170 ml of lassi has also become costlier by Re 1 now.

However, 200 grams of lassi will continue to be available for Rs 15 only.

RS Sodhi, managing director of Amul, says that we will bear the increased prices on small packets ourselves, but due to the increase in GST on some products, the price has to be increased.

Amul Price Hike: Other companies will also increase their price soon.

After the implementation of GST, Amul has taken the first decision to increase the price. Market experts have now started speculating that soon other companies will also increase the prices of their products.

Apart from Amul, companies like Ananda, Parag, Kailash, Mother Dairy, Gopal, and Madhusudan also supply curd, whey, milk, paneer, ghee, etc.

It is believed that the curd, buttermilk, and lassi of these companies will soon become expensive.

Nandini brand curd is expensive in Karnataka.

The Mysuru District Co-operative Milk Producers Society union in Karnataka has increased the prices of its Nandini brand of curd.

Now the price of its 200-gram packet has gone up to Rs.12, while a 500-gram packet will be available for Rs.24.

Similarly, a packet of 1 kg will get Rs 46. 200 grams packet of Nandini Masala Buttermilk will be available for Rs 8, while 200 grams of sweet lassi will now be available for Rs 11.
