AIADMK chief ministerial candidate controversy is likely to end, approval to set up a steering committee.

It has been reported that an agreement has been reached on the issue of the Chief Ministerial candidate in the initial talks between the AIADMK executives and it has been agreed to set up a steering committee.

As the Assembly elections approached, there was a difference of opinion between Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy and Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneer Selvam in announcing the Chief Ministerial candidate in the AIADMK.

Before announcing the Chief Ministerial candidate, Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam insisted that an 11-member steering committee be set up as per the resolution passed in the General Assembly.

Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy is said to have reached an agreement in a consultative meeting with senior ministers yesterday.

It is learned that a social decision was taken at the meeting to form an 11-member steering committee and announce the chief ministerial candidate.

An announcement is expected today on who the members of the steering committee will be and what powers the committee will have.

‘The Chief Minister will soon announce the decision regarding the opening of theaters in Tamil Nadu’ – Minister Kadampur Raju

Minister Kadambur Raju has said that Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy will soon announce the decision on opening theaters in Tamil Nadu.

At the Art Gallery in Chepauk, Chennai

The review meeting of the Stationery and Printing Commission was chaired by Minister Kadampur Raju. The minister, who was present at the meeting, told reporters that the memorial service for former chief minister Jayalalithaa would be completed within a week and handed over to the government.

Minister Kadambur Raju also said that the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has given various concessions and financial assistance to the film industry and the iconic screen, adding that opening the theaters would create an environment where more people can be accommodated within a small space of one to three hours.

Minister Kadambur Raju said that the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu will soon announce the decision based on the report submitted by the Central Government and the Tamil Nadu Medical Council regarding the opening of theaters.
