Anantnag Encounter: Both Jaish-e-Mohammed Terrorists Killed

Anantnag Encounter: Both Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists killed in Anantnag encounter, search operation continues.

Security forces have piled both the terrorists hiding in a house in Kandipora (Anantnag) in south Kashmir. Both the terrorists killed are said to be from the Jaish-e-Mohammed organization.

They are currently being identified. A search operation of police and army is going on to confirm if there is any more terrorist presence in the area. Weapons and ammunition have also been recovered from the encounter site.

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar has confirmed the death of two terrorists. He said that during the encounter the two terrorists were asked to surrender several times but refused to lay down their arms.

The encounter, which started on Wednesday evening, ended at around 11 am. Security forces said that they had killed the first terrorist before 9 o’clock, while the second terrorist was killed after an hour and a half.

Their search operation is on to confirm that no other terrorists are hiding around. Internet service is still closed in Bijbehada Kandipora.

Police officials said that till early today, the army once again asked the terrorists hiding in the house to surrender. They were asked to leave the weapon and come out of the house.

Nothing will be done to them but they ignore this appeal and once again start firing on the security forces.

Let us tell you that in the evening in Kandipora, a little distance from Bijbihara in Anantnag, two or three terrorists armed with automatic weapons came to any of their contacts.

The police got a glimpse of it. Shortly thereafter, the police started the siege of Kandipora with the troops of the 3rd Army and the 14th Corps of the CRPF.

At six in the evening, when the soldiers entered the village while searching, the terrorists hiding in a house started firing on them and tried to escape.

The soldiers foiled the plan of the terrorists. The jawans gave the terrorists a chance to surrender several times, but they continued the firing.

The villagers trapped in the houses in the encounter took them out safely. All the routes of the escape of the terrorists were closed. Till late in the night, there was firing from both sides.

In order to prevent terrorists from taking advantage of the darkness, the security forces illuminated many streets with barbed wire, besides illuminating the floodlights in the village. Eventually, both the terrorists were killed.

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar has confirmed the death of both the terrorists. He said that the search operation of the security forces is going on before the area is evacuated.
