Armed Forces Will Soon Get An Anti-drone System

Armed forces will soon get an anti-drone system, all three armies have signed an agreement with DRDO.

In order to protect against drone attacks, the three armies of the country – Army, Navy, and Air Force have jointly signed an agreement for an anti-drone system developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO).

This is the first anti-drone system developed in the country. The agreement was finalized on August 31, the last date for completion under emergency contracts from the Defense Ministry.

For protection from drone attacks, the three defense forces, Army, Navy, and Air Force have signed deals to buy anti-drone systems developed by DRDO.

During this, all senior army officers and representatives of DRDO were present.

Explain that the need for these entry-drone systems was felt after the incident of dropping explosives at the Jammu airbase through drones.

In which two to three small drones were used to drop explosives at the Jammu airbase.

The Drone Detect, Deter and Destroy System (D4S) developed by DRDO and made by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is the first indigenously developed anti-drone system to be inducted into the Indian Armed Forces.

There was a constant support for this from the Indian Armed Forces. Also, the Army has taken the lead in the joint development of anti-drone systems with DRDO and BEL.

Armed forces will soon get an anti-drone system: DRDO has said that the D4 system can jam the micro drone after detecting it immediately.

This system can use a laser-based kill mechanism to destroy targets. The Armed Forces will have both ‘soft kill’ and ‘hard kill’ options through this system to deal with air threats.

The stationary and mobile variants of the D4S will soon be supplied to the Indian Defense Forces. BEL is expected to get more orders from the defense and home ministries.
