A man has been arrested with 10 airguns at Lucknow airport in Uttar Pradesh. A cache of weapons worth lakhs of rupees has been recovered from him.

Customs officials have arrested a passenger from Dubai at the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow.

Airgun, telescopic sights, and arm accessories have been recovered from the accused passenger. It is believed that the cost of these airguns and weapons will be Rs 20,54,000.

Big Action at Lucknow Airport: The team of Lucknow Airport Custom Department recovered material from a passenger coming from Dubai via flight number IX-194.

The Customs caught the passenger on suspicion and when he was questioned and searched, a cache of weapons was recovered from him.

According to an official statement issued by the customs department, 10 airguns, telescopic sights, and arms accessories were recovered during the checking of the luggage of the accused.

During interrogation, the accused passenger did not have license documents.

After this, the passenger was arrested and will be produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (Economic Offenses) Lucknow for judicial custody today.

Earlier on July 14, Customs at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport had arrested an Indian couple, who had come from Vietnam, and seized at least 45 guns worth over Rs 22 lakh from their bags.

According to the customs commissioner, the accused couple has admitted their previous involvement in smuggling 25 guns worth over Rs 12 lakh.
