BrahMos Supersonic Missile Fired From Fighter Aircraft Sukhoi

BrahMos supersonic missile fired from fighter aircraft Sukhoi, demolished target in the Bay of Bengal.

The Indian Air Force Sukhoi-30 combat aircraft on Friday demolished the ship located in the Bay of Bengal with a BrahMos supersonic missile developed by DRDO.

For this operation, Sukhoi aircraft took off from the Halwara air base in Punjab. It is considered a significant achievement for the Air Force amid the ongoing border dispute with China.

Sources said that after flying from Halwara, the Sukhoi-30 aircraft traveled to the Bay of Bengal with fuel in the air.

The aircraft took off at around 9 am and fired a missile at its target around 1.30 pm. During its flight, the warplane traveled 3,500 kilometers.

This is only the second such test of the BrahMos missile in recent times. Earlier, by flying from the Kalikunda airbase in Bengal, he had targeted his target near Lakshadweep in the Arabian Sea.

The Indian Air Force also has a special squadron, which is in a maritime role. This squadron is stationed at Thanjavur.

It is also known as the ruler of the Indian Ocean region due to the far reach of the Sukhoi aircraft. This squadron is also equipped with BrahMos cruise missile.

Navy tests anti-ship missile

At the same time, the Indian Navy successfully test-fired the anti-ship missile from its warship INS Kora in the Bay of Bengal on Friday.

The Navy did so under an exercise that reflected its combat preparedness in strategic maritime zones around India. The Navy said the missile hit the target at the maximum range with extreme precision.

Last week, the Navy released a video of an anti-ship missile in the Arabian Sea destroying a sinking ship with utmost accuracy. This missile was fired from INS Prabal.

The Indian Navy has significantly increased its deployment in the Indian Ocean region in view of tensions between India and China over the border deadlock in eastern Ladhak.
