The brigade commander-level talks at Chusul between India and China also ended on Wednesday, amid continued tension in the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. According to a leading news agency, the talks lasted from 11 am to 3 pm.

Sources associated with the Indian Army said that both sides have agreed broadly for the talks at the Corps Commander level. The date of this dialogue and its agenda are yet to be finalized.

The news agency has stated in its report that both the countries will continue to negotiate further. Let me tell you that on September 7, Chinese soldiers armed with sticks, spears, and rods attempted to aggressively move towards an Indian hideout located in the Mukpari area of Rejang-La Ridge Line in eastern Ladakh and fired in the air.

This was the first time in 45 years the firing occurred along the Line of Actual Control amidst ongoing tension along the border. This aggression of China was strongly contested by the Indian Army soldiers, forcing them to retreat.

The incident occurred three days after the meeting between the defense ministers of India and China in Moscow and ahead of the meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries in the Russian capital.

Russia has expressed hope that India and China will resolve the border dispute through dialogue. Not only this, but Russia has also refused to mediate without the consent of both countries.

Roman Babushkin, deputy head of the Russian Embassy in India, said on Tuesday that his government wants to see the tension between the two countries in eastern Ladakh diminishing through negotiations.
