CBI Arrested Four Accused For Rigging JEE Main Exam

CBI arrested four accused from Sonipat for rigging JEE Main exam.

The CBI on Monday arrested four employees of a private engineering college in Sonipat for allegedly rigging the JEE Main examination.

These include two lab technicians, an assistant professor, and a class IV employee. The CBI has taken everyone with them to Delhi.

On the complaint of massive rigging and irregularities in the recently held JEE Main examination, the CBI had started the investigation by registering a case.

On September 3, CBI had raided 19 places across the country including Delhi-NCR this case. These also included private engineering colleges in Sonepat, where JEE Main was the center of the exam.

CBI arrested four accused from Sonipat: According to the CBI spokesperson, seven accused were arrested in this case.

In a release issued by the CBI, it was told that this gang used to take 12 to 15 lakh rupees for enrollment in the top institutes of NIT.

It was told that the directors of Noida-based Affinity Education Pvt Ltd played the full game to get a better ranking in JEE Mains. Its agents were spread over several states.

These agents used to contact the students who had low ranking in JEE Main and assured them of better ranking and enrollment in top NIT institutes. In return, they used to demand Rs 12 to 15 lakhs.

The directors of Affinity Education had colluded with some employees at the examination center in Haryana’s Sonepat for rigging the examination.

The students were asked to choose the corresponding examination center.

According to a CBI spokesperson, now four employees of the same engineering college in Sainipat have been arrested.

These include two lab technicians Kuldeep Garg and Arvind Saini, assistant professor Sandeep Gupta and class IV employee Tulsi Ram. At present, all are being questioned.
