CBI’s campaign against corruption, raids in 100 places across the country, know who was the target.

The CBI conducted a nationwide surprise inspection to detect corruption in central government offices and public sector undertakings.

The generality of the CBI’s campaign against corruption can be gauged from the fact that the CBI team investigated more than 100 locations spread across 25 states and union territories and seized documents on a large scale.

Investigation in 30 central government departments.

A senior CBI official said that these documents will be examined and further action will be taken by registering an FIR in the event of disturbances.

In Friday’s surprise inspection, searches were carried out in 30 central government departments and public sector undertakings.

During the surprise inspection, officials of the Vigilance Department of the concerned departments and public sector undertakings were also with the CBI team.

These departments were on target.

The departments where surprise inspection was done include departments like FCI, Railways, IOC, Custom, NDMC, North Delhi Municipal Corporation, CPWD, BSNL, NBCC, GST, Postal.

A senior CBI official said that there were complaints of corruption and irregularity in the departments where surprise inspections were done for a long time.

But there was no concrete evidence for further action by registering FIR.

Raids all over the place simultaneously.

Based on the information received from all the complaints and other sources, the offices of various departments and public sector undertakings were identified.

After that, it was decided to inspect all these places simultaneously. Apparently, its preparation was started about three months ago, but no one was allowed to report it.

Effective measures against corruption.

The senior official said that such surprise inspections can prove to be important in curbing corruption in central departments and public sector undertakings.

He said that after checking the documents found in the surprise inspection, action will be ensured against the officials concerned in the event of disturbances.

The places raided on Friday include Meerut, Prayagraj, Badarpur, Gorakhpur, Agra, Ferozepur, Patna, Ranchi, Dhanbad, and Delhi.
