The IED was recovered on February 22 near Nowgam railway station in Srinagar. On March 10, in Pampore, the police caught a student named Sahil Nazir, who had prepared a vehicle IED and was preparing to attack.

Some other people were also arrested along with him. Meanwhile, Musaib Ahmed Goji was caught with IED and 25 kg ammonia powder in Nalabal Pampore.

He was trying to blow up the Municipal Committee Avantipore. On February 16, an IED was planted in a junk tipper in Bijbihara.

In February also, security forces had neutralized two IEDs. In January, a soldier was martyred in an IED blast by terrorists in Shamsipora Kulgam.

A few days after this blast, terrorists did not even an IED blast in Anantnag. Apart from this, the security forces have recovered IEDs in time from six places during the search operations in the valley.
