The terrorist organization TRF, which is called the hit squad of Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, two terrorists involved in the attack have been identified. One of them is local while the other is Pakistani.

Both terrorists are being searched. Soon they will be captured or will be piled up in an encounter. The attack took place around 12:45 pm on Monday afternoon.

The police administration has suspended four policemen present on the spot during the attack on charges of negligence in duty.

Official sources said that Shams-ud-din Pir, who was injured in the terror attack, was undergoing treatment at SMHS Hospital, Srinagar.

In the early hours of Tuesday, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Earlier on Monday afternoon, Counselor Riaz Ahmed and Policeman (SPO) Shafaqat Nazir Khan were killed in the terrorist attack.

Counselor Riyaz Ahmed and his security guard Shafqat Ahmed were killed in the indiscriminate firing by the terrorists.

While counselor Shams-ud-din was seriously injured. He was admitted to the hospital where he also succumbed early in the wee hours of Tuesday.

A large number of people from the area arrived at his residence to give him a final farewell.
