Covid Vaccination: The wait is over, vaccination will start from January 16, know what kind of preparations are there.

The waiting for vaccination against Covid-19 is now over. The government has announced the introduction of vaccination across the country from 16 January.

Under this, three crore health workers and frontline workers will be vaccinated as a priority. The decision in this regard was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister reviewed the preparations for vaccination in all states and union territories.

After the meeting, a statement issued by the government said, “After a comprehensive review, it was decided that vaccination will be started from January 16 in view of festivals like Lohri, Makar Sankranti, Pongal, Magh Bihu, etc.”

Later Prime Minister Modi also informed about this decision by tweeting.

The emergency use of Oxford-AstraZeneca’s Kovishield and Bharat Biotech’s Kovaxin in the country has recently been approved by drug regulator DCGI.

The Health Ministry has described both vaccines as effective in terms of safety and effectiveness in India.

During the review meeting, Prime Minister Modi was also informed about the Co-Win Vaccine Delivery Management System. This is a digital platform, in which real-time information about vaccine stocks will be available.

Information from temperature to storage to vaccine users will be in it.

With the help of this platform, those conducting the campaign will get the facility from giving time to the beneficiaries who have been registered for vaccination and their verification.

A digital certificate will also be issued to those who have been vaccinated. So far, more than 79 lakh people have registered on it.

Preparation so far

So far, three times rehearsal has been done for Covid-19 vaccination. Under these, 4895 centers have been covered in 615 districts of 33 states and union territories. The third phase of the dry run took place on Friday.

Strategy is broad

The Ministry of Health says that the entire process will run on the principle of public participation. It will use booth election strategy and experience of Universal Immunization Program (UIP).

This is how the order of priority will run

First of all 30 million health workers and frontline workers will get vaccinated. After this, priority will be given to people over 50 years of age and those below the age who already have a disease.

A total of 27 crore people are to be vaccinated in this category. The latest voter list of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections will be used to confirm the age.

Year-round fluctuations

On 30 January 2020, a corona infection was confirmed in a person in Kerala.

This was the first case in the country. In March, cases of some people from abroad in Delhi and surrounding areas confirmed cases of infection continued to increase.

At present, India is second only to America in terms of total infection. However, the good thing is that after touching the level of one lakh new cases every day, now for the past several days, new cases are running below 20 thousand.

More than 10 million people have beaten Corona. This is more than 96 percent of the total infected. Active cases have fallen to less than 2.5 lakhs.
