Crime in Gujarat has reduced sharply, the latest NCRB report: Crime in Gujarat.

While crime against women has increased in various states of the country, in Gujarat, with the help of technology and law, they have been curbed.

The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) of the Government of India releases a booklet titled ‘Crime in India’ every year by collecting information related to crime in all the states and union territories.

According to the data of ‘Crime in India 2021’, there has been a significant reduction in various types of crimes in Gujarat as compared to the national average.

This has been possible because of the remarkable legal amendments made by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s government and strong leadership.

The crime rate of kidnapping crimes in Gujarat.

For violent crimes like murder, attempt to murder, rape, kidnapping, and robbery, Gujarat has a crime rate of 11.9, which is much lower than the country’s crime rate of 30.2.

Furthermore, the crime rate of murder in Gujarat in the year 2021 is 1.4, which is lower than the national average of 2.1.

Gujarat’s crime rate for kidnapping crimes is 2.3, lower than the national average of 7.4.

If we look at the crime trend of kidnapping crimes in Gujarat, then it has registered a steady decrease as compared to the previous years.

Crime in Gujarat has reduced sharply: The crime rate against women is low in Gujarat.

This figure was 3.0 in the year 2018, 2.7 in 2019, and 2.3 in the year 2021. The crime rate of Gujarat in terms of crime against women is 22.1, which is much lower than all of India’s crime rate of 64.5.

The crime rate against women in Gujarat is very low as compared to other states like Assam (168.3), Delhi (147.6), Telangana (119.7), Rajasthan (105.4), West Bengal (74.6), and Kerala (73.3).

In another significant improvement, Gujarat has a crime rate of 28.6 in cases of crimes against the human body (murder, attempt to murder, grievous hurt, rape, etc.) as compared to the national average crime rate of 80.5.

Gujarat has been ranked 31st among a total of 36 states and union territories in the crime rate of this type of crime.

The crime rate of Gujarat for the crime of theft is 15.2, which is much lower than the national crime rate of 42.9 and Gujarat is number 27 on this list.

The results of the amendment of the law.

New laws have been made in the state and old laws have been amended. The provision of even the death penalty in the Criminal Amendment Act.

The increase in the punishment norms in the laws of offenses like chain snatching and human trafficking, etc. have increased the fear among the criminals and there has been a decrease in crime.

Technology-led crime.

The maximum use of technology is being made by the police department. More than 7 thousand CCTV cameras have been made functional in all the districts under the ‘Vishvas Project’.

In 41 cities, the work of issuing e-challans to drivers for violating traffic rules has been started.

Not only this, but with the use of PocketCop, E-GuzCop, and Drone Cameras, the convenience of citizens has increased.
