DP Pandey Is The New Commander Of The 15th Corps

DP Pandey is the new commander of the 15th Corps. Lieutenant General DP Pandey becomes the new commander of the 15th Corps, has conducted several counter-insurgency operations in Kashmir.

Lieutenant General Devendra Pratap Pandey formally took over the command of the Army’s 15th Corps on Wednesday.

He has handled this task in place of the outgoing Corps Commander Lt Gen BS Raju. Lieutenant General BS Raju has been made DGMO at the military headquarters in Delhi.

Lieutenant General DP Pandey was a student of NDA, receiving a commission in the Sikh Light Infantry Regiment from the Indian Military Academy Dehradun in 1985.

He has also commanded the 8 Sector Rashtriya Rifles operating in North Kashmir and the Fortress Force of the Army. He has successfully conducted many anti-terrorist operations in Kashmir.

Lieutenant General DP Pandey, after taking command of the Chinar Corps, said in his message to the Kashmiri Awam that he was determined to maintain an atmosphere of peace, security, and trust in Kashmir.

He said that he would go ahead with the civil administration, various security agencies, local civil society, and the common people of Kashmir to achieve this goal.

He has called upon the civil society to cooperate with the security forces in making Kashmir terrorism-free.

The situation in the Kashmir Valley was quite challenging during the tenure of Lieutenant General BS Raju, who was going to take up his new responsibility as the DGMO of the Indian Army.

He demonstrated his leadership efficiency in front of terrorism and Covid-19 in 2020. He also took a dig at terrorism in the interior of the Valley, responding to Pakistan’s nefarious designs on the LoC and the nefarious intentions of Pakistan.

He took many concrete steps to strengthen the relationship between the common people and the army in the Valley, which also benefited in the form of public cooperation in counter-insurgency operations.

He also organized youth sports culture festivals, education and skill development programs on behalf of the army in Valley.

He also launched a campaign called Maa to bring the misguided terror-stricken local youth back into the mainstream. He started this campaign while holding the post of GOC of Victor Force in South Kashmir.

He further expanded this campaign by becoming the Chinar Corps Commander. He ensured surrender opportunities for the terrorists even during the encounter. He has also been the commander of the Uri Brigade.

In view of his remarkable contribution to the valley, he has also been awarded the Uttam Yudh Seva Medal.

Before leaving for Delhi today, the people of Kashmir and all the officers and soldiers of Chinar have expressed their gratitude for cooperation in creating an atmosphere of peace, security, and trust in the plaintiff.
