The manager of the temple, Makhan Lal Kaul, said that there has been a tension-like situation in the valley ever since the terrorists killed the minorities.

This puja which is being done today was actually to be done on 12 October. The Pandit community wanted to do it on time but the administration asked to postpone it for two days citing the situation.

Two days later, but the community is happy that they performed a special puja at the Durga temple as per their tradition.

He said that due to the situation, the number of devotees remained less than last year, but by maintaining the tradition of worship in temples and participating in it.

Kashmiri Pandits have made it clear that Kashmir belongs to them too. The Muslim brothers living here also gave full cooperation in this.

Rampal Kapoor, who hails from Orissa, said that he and his family come here every year for the last nine years to worship Durga Navami. We never felt unsafe here.

The people of the Pandit community, who came specially to attend the puja, appealed to the administration that now the process of killings should stop in the valley.

He remembers this land of his ancestors very much. Create such an environment here that people of all communities live in peace and harmony.

Sanjay Tikku, president of Kashmir Sangharsh Samiti, an organization of Kashmiri Pandits, said that soon a huge havan will be organized at the Ganesh temple located in the Ganpatiyar area of ​​Srinagar.

In which all the members of our community living in the valley have been asked to participate. Tikku said that the purpose of the havan is to thwart the conspiracies to disturb the atmosphere.

At the same time, the message is to be given that whatever be the circumstances, Hindu-Muslim brotherhood will prevail. Whatever happens, we will never let fear overwhelm us.

For this it is necessary that we celebrate our customs as before. He said that the date of the havan has not been decided yet, but we will try to organize it in the first week of November.

Earlier every year a huge ceremony was held here, in which Ravana was burnt. In the year 2018 also Dussehra was held at TRC Ground in Srinagar.
