He suffered serious injuries along with Fayaz Ahmed, his wife, and his daughter in this terrorist incident.
All three were admitted to a hospital in Awantipora, Pulwama, where the former SPO and wife succumbed to their injuries.

Administration officials said that the militants entered the house of SPO Fayaz Ahmed at Hariparigam in the Awantipora area of the district at around 11 pm and opened fire on the family.
He was taken to a local hospital, where the SPO and his wife Raja Begum succumbed to their injuries.
His daughter Rafia has been admitted to a hospital here for treatment. Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to nab the attackers.
