Expecting Orders Of One Billion Dollar For Export Of Food Items

Expecting orders of one billion dollars for the export of food items, buyers participated in TPCI’s Indus Food Fair.

More than 750 buyers from 52 countries attended the Indus Food Fair organized to encourage the export of food items.

These buyers are expecting to get orders of about one billion dollars to Indian food and beverage exporters. The highest share was held by the Gulf and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries.

A large number of buyers from Europe and America also participated. More than 150 buyers from the Gulf co-operation area and more than 100 buyers from CIS participated.

At the Indus Food Fair organized by the Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI) on 20 and 21 March.

MSME Minister of State Pratap Chandra Shadangi said that the participation of such a large number of foreign buyers in the fair shows that coming out of the pressure of the epidemic Business is becoming increasingly common.

He said that Indian food exports have also performed better in the Corona period.

Indian food and beverages have the full potential to compete in the global market. The government has taken several measures to enhance the quality of goods so that our product can be recognized globally and boost exports.

In the current financial year 2020-21, between April and December, the exports of the food and beverages sector have been 10 percent more than the year before.

Vivek Aggarwal, chairman of TPCI’s Food and Beverages Committee, said that in recent times there have been unexpected opportunities for companies in the business of value-added food and beverages products.

This has increased the relevance of the global value chain framework and production network in the food processing sector.

Aggarwal said that the event was organized following all the security protocols in view of the corona. Indus Food has several retail chains including global retail chains Nesto.

Grand Hypermarket, Lulu, X-5 Retail, Lidi, Swapno, and BIM Supermarket. States like Odisha, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, and Jammu, and Kashmir participated in this fair with their special identity.

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has given this instruction to insurance companies.

IRDAI issued a circular stating that it is mandatory for all insurance companies to set up procedures through which policyholders can get information about various stages of the claim process in a transparent manner.

IRDAI has asked insurance companies to ensure that a claim should not be dismissed merely on the basis of ‘prior assumption or presumption’.
