Grenade Attack Gang Was Being Operating From Central Jail

Grenade attack gang was operating from the central jail of Srinagar. Two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists lodged in the Central Jail of Srinagar in Kashmir were running a gang of grenade attacks.

Security forces have busted a grenade thrower module of Lashkar-e-Taiba operating at Awantipora in Pulwama district. Four terrorists of this module have been arrested on Monday.

These terrorists used to attack grenades at the behest of Ishaad Ahmed and Mustaqeem, who were in jail.

These arrested terrorists have carried out four grenade attacks in the last week in Awantipora, Tral, and Pulwama.

Three grenades have also been recovered from the terrorists.

A police spokesman said that there have been three incidents of grenade attacks on security forces camps and police stations in Tral and Awantipora during the last week.

To nab the terrorists involved in these, the police had fully activated their intelligence system.

It was revealed from this mechanism that Lashkar has prepared a four-member module to carry out terrorist attacks in Awantipora and Tral and its adjoining areas.

The police gathered all the clues about the terrorist module. After this, together with the soldiers of the Army and CRPF, raided their bases.

Four terrorists were arrested in this. These include Aaqib Manzoor, Mudassar Ahmed Butt, Ghulam Mohammad Ahangar, and Waris Bashir Najar.

Waris Bashir Najar had carried out a grenade attack on the military camp in Mandura, Tral on March 1. He is a resident of Sheikh Mohalla Cheeva Ullar village of Tral.

The other three terrorists are residents of Hafu village in Tral. The module was operated through the OGW network

During interrogation, it has been revealed that this module was being run by terrorists Irshad Ahmed Butt and Mustakim Ahmed alias Waheed, who was lodged in the Central Jail, Srinagar.

Mustakim, a resident of Hafu in Tral, is lodged in connection with arms smuggling. At the same time, Irshad Ahmed Butt is from Pattan in North Kashmir.

His father Fayaz Ahmed Butt was a well-known commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, who was killed about 10 years ago. Irshad Butt is also lodged in jail on the basis of his involvement in terrorist activities.

Mustaqeem and Irshad are carrying out terrorist activities in Kashmir through their Overground Worker (OGW) network while sitting in jail.

A case has also been registered against both of them and interrogation will also take place.
