According to the Meteorological Department, there was a possibility of heavy rains in the Tiruvallur, Chennai, Chengalpattu, and Kancheepuram districts.

A red alert has been sounded for Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kallakurichi, Salem, Vellore, Tirupattur, Ranipet, Tamil Nadu, and Tiruvannamalai districts of Puducherry.

Let us tell you that for the past several days, heavy rains have continued to wreak havoc in Chennai.

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of heavy rain for November 11 in many districts of the state. 90 major reservoirs and lakes of the state have been flooded due to the rains.

So far, the death toll due to rain in the state has reached 12. At present, the people of the state are not expected to get relief from the rains.

The low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal may soon take the form of a storm. Due to this, the situation is expected to worsen due to heavy rains across Tamil Nadu.

State Revenue and Disaster Management Minister KKSSR Ramachandran said on Wednesday that 11 teams of NDRF and seven teams of SDRF are engaged in relief work in the affected areas.

IMD says that due to the low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal, light to moderate rains is possible at isolated parts of South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, and Andaman, and the Nicobar Islands.

At the same time, Skymet Weather, a private agency issuing weather forecasts, has said in its report that light rain may also occur in Telangana, North Interior Karnataka, and Lakshadweep.

On the other hand, the air pollution in the Delhi NCR region may remain in the poor category.
