Police said that they received information about the sighting of terrorists in Reshipora, Anantnag in South Kashmir on Friday evening.

A joint team of police and security forces reached the area and laid siege to the terrorists.

It was learned that the commander of The Resistance Front, called the Hit Squad of Lashkar-e-Taiba, which has become synonymous with terror in Kashmir, is trapped in the siege.

The firing took place for hours, and the terrorists were also given many opportunities to surrender, but when they did not agree, the security forces killed a terrorist.

In view of the darkness and the possibility of the presence of more terrorists in the area, the security forces postponed the operation till morning.

When security forces searched the encounter site early in the morning, the body of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Nisar Khande was found there.

The forest is also adjacent to Reshipora and it is one of the remote villages of Anantnag. Therefore, the presence of more terrorists is being feared in the area.

The security forces have ended the encounter and have taken the bodies of the terrorist and the recovered weapons.

But the presence of a terrorist is still being feared in the forest. The search operation is on.
