Hizbul Mujahideen Divisional Chief, associate killed in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: A divisional leader of Hizbul Mujahideen Junaid Sehrai and his partner were killed in a weapon fight in Srinagar city today compelling authorities to suspend versatile and portable internet providers in Srinagar.

Inspector-General of Police Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, disclosed to media that security forces including Police and CRPF propelled an activity in the Nawakadal territory of Srinagar after intelligence about presence of two terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen covering up in the zone.

He said that during the activity the Terrorists started shooting at the security forces prompting a short gunfight. Notwithstanding, there was a respite for a few hours before the gunfight continued at around 7:30 a.m.

He said that both the terrorists were killed. He recognized them as Junaid Ahmed Sehrai, divisional leader Hizbul Mujahideen child of Mohammed Ashraf Khan assumed name Sehrai, an occupant of Kupwara and now Srinagar and Tariq Ahmed Sheik, an inhabitant of Pulwama additionally from Hizbul Mujahideen.

When the activity was propelled, portable, and versatile internet providers were suspended by the authorities. Nonetheless, BSNL broadband was not banished.

The dead bodies of the Terrorists were not given over to their families for the last rituals. However, funeral prayers in absentia of Junaid Sehrai were held on the lawn of his house in the Barzulla area. It was driven by his dad Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai.

Chief General of Police Dilbag Singh told media that the activity that began the previous evening at Nawa Kadal region finished today evening with the killing of Junaid Sehrai and his partner.

He said that these terrorists were entrusted to draw youth into militancy and toss explosives. “Tariq was active in Pulwama and Shopian regions”, he included.

The DGP while portraying the activity as effective said just a single private house burst into flames which were controlled right away. “The primary thing we did in the first part of the day was to evacuate the hostages. In that procedure, two security force personal one from CRPF and another from SOG were injured. In the last ambush on the terrorists, the terrorists threw a grenade in which two CRPF  men got injured, all the harmed is steady,” he said.

The DGP said that 73 terrorists were killed for this present year up until this point and 95 terrorists and their partners were captured.

Dilbag visited 92 Base Hospital BB Cantt. Srinagar and enquired about the health of the CRPF and police force who were injured in the gunfight.

He met the doctors treating the injured and dazzled for all conceivable treatment for their initial recuperation. He guaranteed the injured faculty that all conceivable assistance and help will be given to them.

IGP Vijay Kumar said neither civilian was harmed in the activity nor any inadvertent blow-back was caused. He said that Police and CRPF  personal got shot and grenade wounds. “We have kept up maximum restrain during the fight. Kumar praised the police and CRPF officials and jawans for this effective activity in the city.
