The Civil Services Examination of the Union Public Service Commission is counted not only in the country but also in the toughest examinations of the world (UPSC Exam).

Candidates who are successful in this are appointed to posts like IAS, IPS, and IRS on the basis of the cut-off list.

As difficult as it is to pass the UPSC exam, an even more difficult journey begins after the training (UPSC Training). IAS officers are promoted many times during their tenure.

1- After passing the UPSC Civil Services Examination, the IAS officer is selected on the basis of the final cut-off.

2- After training (UPSC Training) at Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy Mussoorie, the career of an IAS officer begins with district training in the allotted cadre.

3- After this, he starts working as Deputy District Magistrate (ADM) in the state administration. They are assigned the charge of a district or tehsil (IAS Posts).

4- If he is appointed as SDM, then he is entrusted with the law and order work of Tehsil.

5- After district training, IAS officers work as Assistant Secretary in the Central Government for three months (IAS Promotion).

6- After that, he is appointed as District Magistrate or another post.

7- IAS officers can also be appointed in government departments or ministries.

While working here, he can be posted on deputation to the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, Asian Development Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and United Nations and its agencies.
