Iga Swiatek won the title of the US Open 2022 by defeating Ons Jabur. Iga Swiatek crowned US Open 2022, defeats Jabur to win third Grand Slam title.

Poland’s 21-year-old player Iga Swiatek has won the title of the US Open 2022. In the final, world number one Swiatek defeated Wimbledon runner-up Ons Jabur 6-2, 7-6 in straight sets.

This is Swiatek’s third career Grand Slam title. Swiatek has won the French Open twice before the US Open.

The 28-year-old Jabur, seeded 5th, was the first African player to reach the final of the US Open in the professional era that began in 1968. After Wimbledon, she also missed out on winning the US Open title.

Men’s doubles title for Salisbury and Rajeev Ram.

The pair of Joe Salisbury of Britain and Rajiv Ram of America won the men’s doubles title in the US Open tennis tournament for the second time in a row by winning straight sets.

Salisbury and the Rams defeated Wesley Koolhof and Neil Skupski 7-6(4) 7-5. It is only the second time in the professional era that a pair has managed to retain their men’s doubles title at the US Open.

Salisbury waved his hand in the air after scoring the winning shot and then hugged his partner Ram.

Due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II, this British player could not celebrate more than this. Salisbury came to the court wearing a black bandage.

He said, “This is not the time to celebrate openly as everyone is in misery at home. We are certainly happy with this success, but it is also a sad time.”

With the win, the top-seeded pair of Salisbury and Ram equaled the record of Australia’s Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodford.

Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodford were the only pair in the Open era to defend their title at the US Open.

Woodbridge and Woodford won the title at Flushing Meadows for two consecutive years in 1995 and 1996.
