Ind vs NZ 1st ODI: Dhawan, Gill, and Shreyas’ innings faded in front of Tom Latham, and India lost by 7 wickets.

The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and New Zealand was played at Eden Park in Auckland.

In the first ODI, Kiwi captain Kane Williamson won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Batting in the first innings, the Indian team scored 306 runs for 7 wickets in 50 overs on the basis of half-centuries from captain Dhawan, Shubman Gill, and Shreyas Iyer.

In the second innings, the Kiwi team had a target of 307 runs to win and this team won the match by scoring 309 runs for 3 wickets in 47.1 overs.

Tom Latham played an unbeaten knock of 145 runs and captain Kane’s unbeaten 94 runs. With this victory, the hosts also took a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.

Chasing the target, New Zealand’s Tom Latham scored a century. Latham scored 100 off 76 balls with the help of 14 fours and 3 sixes.

After this, he did not get out till the end and scored an unbeaten 145 off 104 balls with the help of 5 sixes and 19 fours.

At the same time, captain Kane Williamson also played a brilliant inning and remained unbeaten after scoring 94 runs.

There was a record unbeaten 221-run partnership between the two for the fourth wicket.

Umran Malik took two wickets.

New Zealand’s first wicket fell in the form of Finn Allen and he was caught by Shardul Thakur at the hands of Rishabh Pant for 22 runs. Umran Malik came to bowl the 16th over after the drinks break.

On the first ball of this over, New Zealand got a second blow by getting Devon Conway caught by Pant.

Also, Umran got his first wicket in international cricket. Umran took his second wicket by dismissing Darryl Mitchell for 11 runs.

Playing cautiously, captain Kane Williamson completed his half-century off 54 balls, while Latham completed his half-century off 51 balls.

In India’s innings, Dhawan, Gill, and Shreyas scored half-centuries.

While batting first in this match, Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill got off to a good start for India.

Captain Shikhar Dhawan completed his half-century by hitting a four off 63 balls, while Shubman Gill also completed his half-century off 64 balls.

There was a brilliant century partnership of 124 runs between Dhawan and Gill and this partnership was broken by Lucky Ferguson by dismissing Gill.

Gill played an innings of 50 runs and his catch was caught by Knave. Shikhar Dhawan played 72 runs in 77 balls with the help of 13 fours and he gave his catch to Finn off Tim Southee.

Rishabh Pant was sent to bat at number four in this match, but he was dismissed for 15.

While Suryakumar Yadav failed in this match and was caught by Lucky Ferguson after scoring 4 runs.

Shreyas Iyer completed his half-century off 56 balls. Sanju Samson scored 36 off 38 balls with the help of 4 fours and was caught out by Adam Milne.

Shreyas Iyer played a brilliant inning and scored 80 runs in 76 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 4 fours.

Washington Sundar scored an unbeaten 37 off 16 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 3 fours while Shardul Thakur was dismissed after scoring one run.

Tim Southee and Lucky Ferguson earned 3-3 success for New Zealand.

Sanju and Umran got a chance, and Deepak Chahar was out of playing XI.

Sanju Samson and Umran Malika were included in Team India for the first ODI against New Zealand while Deepak Chahar was not given a place in the playing XI.

At the same time, Chahal was included in the team as a spinner, but Kuldeep Yadav was not able to make a place in the playing eleven.

Both fast bowlers Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh made their ODI debut in this match.
