India gave medical supplies to 150 countries during the epidemic: External Affairs Minister Jaishankar.

External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar said on Wednesday that India gave medical supplies and equipment to more than 150 countries during the COVID-19 epidemic.

Addressing the 14th annual conference of the National Institute of Security Studies of Israel, EAM said, ‘Even though we have started mass vaccination in our country.

We have also started an immediate Indian vaccine supply to our neighbors. In the coming time, India will give vaccines to other partner countries also.

Jaishankar said that combating the epidemic would naturally dominate the global agenda in the coming days.

He said that as a country that provides this epidemic medical supplies and equipment to more than 150 countries, they also support improving coordination with those countries.

Talking about the new US administration (President Joe Biden), the foreign minister said, “As soon as the new administration takes charge in the US.

It is natural that the world will pay attention to the changes that are taking place.” He said that the United States has been actively and consistently engaged in commitments in foreign policies for two decades.

He said that like the rest of the world, the US is also accepting a rebalancing of global power distribution. This happened rapidly over the last decade and will probably continue.

He said that, of course, the US administration will look at the landscape it has inherited and meet contemporary needs.

On the issue of climate change, EAM said, ‘Where climate change is concerned, the US withdrawal to uphold global commitments would be widely welcomed.’

He said that India today holds both its own beliefs and the world’s opinion as it meets renewable energy targets and expands its forest cover. Not only this, it increases biodiversity and focuses on effective water use.
