US Defense Minister spoke to Rajnath Singh, said – Biden administration will further enhance the strategic relationship between the two countries.

The US Biden administration has given a clear indication of its intentions to take forward its strategic relationship with India as it takes power.

America’s new Defense Minister General Lloyd Austin called Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and expressed his intention to give a new impetus to the military and strategic partnership between the two countries.

During this first top-level interaction between India and the US after the Biden administration came to power, Rajnath Singh congratulated the new US defense minister on his appointment.

Austin said – India-US will further enhance strategic relations Biden administration.

Austin called Rajnath Singh on Wednesday and made it clear that even in the new US administration, there will be no change in the relationship of multilateral strategic cooperation between the two countries.

The Ministry of Defense also gave a clear indication of this in a brief statement issued saying that both Rajnath and Austin have expressed their commitment to carry forward the India-US multi-faceted and strategic cooperation relationship.

Austin is the highest-level representative of the new administration to deliver the message of furthering relations with India after Biden assumed power on January 20 as US President.

India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Wednesday telephoned his US counterpart Jake Sullivan and agreed to work together on regional and global issues.

The two also talked about the elimination of terrorism and the establishment of peace and stability in the Great Pacific region.

The Foreign Ministry said that the two National Security Advisers also agreed to take forward the mutual relationship between the two countries based on shared values, strategic interests.

On this occasion, Doval also congratulated Sullivan on his appointment. The Foreign Ministry statement said that Doval stressed the need to increase coordination between the world’s two largest democratic systems.

The two sides agreed to work together in the field of maritime security, cybersecurity, dealing with the threat of terrorism, along with maintaining peace in the Indian Pacific region.
