India may test-fire its intercontinental ballistic missile Agni-5 today. This will be the 8th test of this missile capable of carrying nuclear weapons.

This powerful ballistic missile of India (Agni-V ICBM) has been jointly produced by Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL).

DRDO chief G Satheesh Reddy said in an event that if the country has to become prosperous and self-reliant, then we need to work on advanced technology.

He referred to the five missiles – Prithvi, Agni, Akash, Trishul, and Nag – developed by India under the Integrated Guided Missile Development Program (IGMDP).

He said we have developed Earth, Agni, Akash, Trishul, Nag. And then we became one of the few countries with ballistic missiles that can intercept and hit an enemy missile.

Then there were many more missiles with longer range and greater capabilities.

India’s military might will surely increase by getting Agni-5 missiles. It is also worth noting that this test is being done at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a tour of America.

China is constantly raising questions on this test of India. The Agni-5 missile will be test-fired off the coast of Odisha.

As soon as its successful test is done, India will be included in the list of 8 selected countries that have nuclear-capable missiles.

China is afraid.

India has not yet disclosed that what will be the range of Agni-5 missiles. Defense experts are estimating that its range can be 5000 to 8000 km.

If this happens, then many countries including China will come under the JD of Agni-5. That’s why China’s breath is blowing at this time.

The missile covers a distance of 8.16 km in a second.

The Agni-5 missile is capable of carrying up to one and a half tons of nuclear warheads. It is 17.5 meters long and its diameter is 2 meters i.e. 6.7 feet.
