India Raised Issue Of Temple Demolition In PAK In The UN

India raised issue of demolition of the temple in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the UN. In the United Nations, India has attacked Pakistan on the issue of breaking a Hindu temple in Pakistan.

India said that Pakistan is attached to the UN resolution to promote a culture of peace. Despite this, the mob vandalized a historic temple in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and the Pakistani government remained a mute spectator.

Indian Ambassador to the United Nations TS Thirumurthy said that the proposal cannot be used to hide or mislead countries like Pakistan.

The United Nations General Assembly on Thursday adopted a resolution on promoting a culture of peace and tolerance for the protection of religious places.

India raised issue in the UN: TS Thirumurthy called for strengthening international efforts to promote a culture of tolerance and peace at all levels based on respect for human rights and diversity of religions and beliefs.

Trimurti said that it is a matter of great irony that the country recently attacked and demolished Hindu temples and where the rights of minorities are being violated is linked to the proposal of a culture of peace.

Citing the demolition of a Hindu temple in Karak city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in December 2020, he said that a historic Hindu temple in Karak city of Pakistan was attacked by a mob. Legal agencies remained mute spectators during this time when the historic temple was being vandalized.

India said that terrorism, violent extremism, bigotry, and intolerance are on the rise in the world. Religious sites and cultural heritage sites are threatened by terrorist acts.

In addition, Tirumurthy gave examples of such incidents in different parts of the world.

He said that India attaches great importance to the protection of cultural heritage and religious sites. He further said that India also has a strong legal framework for acts of violence or discrimination based on religion.
