India Will Play Its First Day-night Test Match Against Sri Lanka

India will play its first day-night test match against Sri Lanka under the captaincy of Rohit.

The second match of the two-match Test series between India and Sri Lanka will be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru from 2 pm onwards.

The Indian cricket team is going to play its first day-night test match against Sri Lanka. At the same time, in Bangalore, the Indian team is going to play the Pink Ball Test match for the first time.

Earlier, India has played three Day-Night Test matches in which they have won two and lost one.

On the other hand, India won the first test match against Sri Lanka by an innings and 222 runs in Mohali, and in this test series, India is leading 1-0.

India’s probable team.

Rohit Sharma (Captain), Mayank Agarwal, Hanuma Vihari, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (WK), Shreyas Iyer.

Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel/Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami.

Sri Lanka’s probable squad.

Lahiru Thirimanne, Dimuth Karunaratne (c), Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Dhananjaya de Silva, Charith Aslanka.

Niroshan Dickwella (wk), Suranga Lakmal, Lasith Embuldeniya, Vishwa Fernando, Praveen Jayawickrama.

There is no doubt that the Indian team is looking very strong although they too have the experience of playing only three day-night Test matches.

Sri Lanka has also played three Day-Night Test matches so far, but India won the two matches played on its soil. The Indian batting is looking very strong and the batsmen seem to be in rhythm too.

However, getting runs off Rohit Sharma’s bat will be beneficial for the team.

Apart from this, batsmen like Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer are in the team, then Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin will bat in the lower order.

The bowling of the team is also looking great with the presence of Bumrah, Shami, Jadeja, and Ashwin.

While Akshar Patel and Mohd. One of Siraj’s can get a chance in the playing XI depending on the condition of the pitch.

The Sri Lankan team looks very weak. The team will miss fast bowler Lahiru Kumara. He is out with a hamstring. There is also a controversy over the inclusion of Dushmanta Chamira in the playing XI.

Chameera is in the Test team, but Colombo (Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Cricket and Sports) has decided that he will play only white-ball cricket (ODIs and T20s) till this year’s T20 World Cup.

Kushal Mendis will replace Lahiru Kumara in the team, Praveen Jayavikrama can play in place of Pathum Nisanka.

Captain Dimuth Karunaratne will expect even better performance from the experienced Angelo Mathews.

In his last series, only fast bowler Tunnel Lakmal could bowl at an economy rate of less than four. The rest of the bowlers proved to be very expensive.

This is the last Test for the Indian team on their soil this year. Seven more Tests are to be played in the current World Test Championship cycle.

The team will go to Bangladesh to play two Test matches and then the Australian team will come in 2023 for four Tests.

There is also one Test remaining on the England tour to play. India will have to win all these matches to make it to the World Test Championship final.
