India’s Industrial Production Increased In March

India’s industrial production increased in March, know how many numbers came: IIP data March 2022.

On the industrial production front, the performance in March has been excellent. India’s industrial production growth grew by 1.9 percent in March.

According to official data released on Thursday, India’s industrial output recorded such an increase in March 2022.

According to the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) data released by the National Statistical Office (NSO), the manufacturing sector’s output grew by 0.9 percent in March 2022.

Mining output increased by 4 percent while electricity generation increased by 6.1 percent.

India’s industrial production increased: IIP grew by 11.3 percent during 2021-22.

According to the data, IIP grew by 24.2 percent in March 2021. IIP grew by 11.3 percent during 2021-22, while contracted 8.4 percent in 2020-21.

Industrial production has been affected due to the coronavirus pandemic since March 2020, when it saw a contraction of 18.7 percent.

Economic activity declined in view of the lockdown.

In April 2020, it declined by 57.3 percent due to a decline in economic activity in the wake of the lockdown imposed to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.

Capital goods production increased by 0.7 percent in March 2022.

Capital goods production showed a growth of 0.7 percent in March 2022 as against a growth of 50.4 percent in the same month a year ago.

The consumer durables segment remained in the negative with a decline of 3.2 percent against a growth of 59.9 percent a year ago.

The primary goods segment, which accounts for about 34 percent of the index, grew by 5.7 percent in March. Earlier this increase was 7.9 percent.

Contraction in the consumer non-durable segment.

The output of intermediate goods and infrastructure/construction goods remained positive. While the consumer non-durable segment remained in contraction.

The IIP has remained positive since March 2021 after contracting for several months during the Corona pandemic.
