IPL 2022: Chennai Super Kings begins training session in Surat. The 15th season of IPL is starting on 26 March 2022.

The first match will be played between the defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium.

Chennai has started the training session under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni from Monday at Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat. CSK has thanked the people of Surat by sharing a video on Twitter.

Captain Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu, bowling coach Balaji and KM Asif are seen in the photo shared by CSK.

CSK’s team has changed.

CSK’s team will be seen changing this time and again. CSK had retained only Ravindra Jadeja, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Rituraj Gaikwad, and Moeen Ali this time.

For this reason, Faf du Plessis was available for auction and was bought by Bengaluru. CSK team will miss Du Plessis this time. He has performed in many big matches for Chennai.

This time he will be seen playing for Royals Challengers Bangalore. Apart from this, Deepak Chahar was bought by the team at a huge price of 14 crores.

Due to injury, he will not be able to play some of the opening matches.

The 10 teams playing this time have been divided into two virtual groups. CSK is in Group B along with Sunrisers Hyderabad, RCB, Punjab Kings, and Gujarat Titans. CSK has now won four IPL titles.

This time IPL format is different.

This time the IPL format played with 10 teams is a bit different. Teams divided into two groups will play 2-2 matches against all the teams in their group and the teams in front of them.

While the rest of the teams will play 1-1 match. However, the journey ahead will depend on the points after 14 matches as it used to be.
